I'm Rae — your photographer and guide for honest, laid-back portrait sessions that feel more like hanging out with a friend than posing for photos. My approach is all about connection, presence, and documenting this season of life with honesty and intention.

We recently did a sunrise couples session with Rae and I cannot express how amazing she was and how happy we are with our photos. Neither of us had ever done professional photos before and we were kind of nervous, Rae was so warm and welcoming and made us feel at ease. She provided a detailed email beforehand and explained everything from time and location to mood boards and outfit ideas. She gave tons of prompts which kept us moving and laughing, really feeling like ourselves while she worked candid magic behind the scenes. I offer a range of portrait sessions, including couples, engagements, maternity, motherhood,
family, seniors, empowerment, creative branding, and artistic shoots. Whether you're celebrating a
milestone, or wanting to get creative behind the lens, I’d be honoured to document this season
of life for you.
Each session includes a personalized experience - together we dream up your perfect session
and bring your vision to life through pre-booking calls, questionnaires, and a personalized
session guide and moodboard. You will receive a curated gallery of artistically crafted images in
both colour and black & white, along with cute GIFs and any behind-the-scenes footage caught
on my phone. My goal is to make you feel prepared, comfortable, and truly seen in an authentic way.
Your session can unfold wherever your story feels most genuine—whether it’s wandering
through the forest, exploring rugged coastlines, finding hidden spots in the city, or even at home
in your backyard. I’m here to help you think beyond the usual spots to find a location that’s
meaningful and unique.
Travel is included for locations between Nanaimo and Bowser, but if you’re envisioning
somewhere beyond this area, custom travel quotes are available. I’m always up for an
adventure, so let’s dream it up!
You can expect to receive your full gallery within 2-4 weeks, depending on the time of year. I’ll
also send a few sneak peeks shortly after our session so you can see how things are coming along!
I want you to feel comfortable and confident during your session, and what you wear plays a big
part in that. After booking, you’ll receive a detailed planning guide that goes into wardrobe in
depth, including tips on colors, textures, and styles that look best on camera and complement
the setting we are shooting in.
I’m also here to help you coordinate outfits, so if you need extra guidance or want to bounce
around ideas, text me! I honestly love helping my clients pick out their fits!
I understand that life is unpredictable. If you need to reschedule, just let me know as soon as
possible. I’m flexible and happy to work with you to find a new date that works within my
schedule. In case of cancellation, the retainer is non-refundable, but I’m here to help navigate
the details.
I believe in documenting moments as they unfold naturally, capturing the in-between, unposed,
and heartfelt interactions. My approach is relaxed and intuitive, allowing space for you to just be
yourself. I’ll gently guide you when needed, offering prompts, but mostly encourage you to enjoy
the experience, laugh freely, and connect genuinely. I always tell my clients - pretend like I’m
taking a video the whole time, rather than photos. It keeps the movement and connection flowing!
